The name ‘Villa Naumanni’ comes from the Lesser Kestrel hawk (scientific term ‘Naumanni’), an endangered species, which nests in the cavities of the walls of the house. The house was renovated in such a way to preserve the nests that were found on site and to create new nesting spaces that are visible from some of the rooms to monitor the birds.
Visit the ‘Ornithology’ section for more information and pictures.
